WHAT IS THE HASH BUBBLE?
A type of hash created with ice water is called bubble hash, sometimes called ice hash or ice water hash. The name 'bubble hash' refers to the way the light golden blond to dark greenish-brown material bubbles when cooked. The resin glands that cover the cannabis flower, called trichomes, are used to make bubble hash, much like ordinary hash.
In special bags called "bubble bags", the trichomes are shaken with cold water and ice to produce bubble hash. The freshly frozen trichomes fall from the flower and are filtered through a succession of sieves in the bags to produce bubble hash when the material is constantly stirred or mixed.
To optimise your operations and procedures for optimum results, it's crucial to acquire as much knowledge as possible about various extracts and concentrates, such as bubble hash, whether you're a consumer or an entrepreneur in the cannabis industry.
A SUMMARY OF THE BUBBLE HASH STORY
Bubble hash was one of the most popular cannabis concentrates until the mid-2010s, when alternative concentrates such as wax and shatter began to rapidly gain in popularity. On the other hand, the use of bubble hash is more recent than that of classic hash, which has been around for decades.
In the early 1980s, Californian cannabis enthusiast Sadhu Sam, often known as Skunkman Sam, came across a new ice-water extraction method. He published an advert in High Times in 1988 which included instructions on how to perform the extraction. Bubble hash had become increasingly popular by the early 1990s and Mila Jansen invented the first two-bag filter bag separation system. Marcus 'Bubble Man' Richardson developed better bubble bag filtration technology in the late 1990s, and processing still uses it today.
While the popularity of concentrates such as wax and shatter led to a decline in the use of bubble hash, the need for solvent-free concentrates has led to a resurgence of bubble hash in recent years.
HOW BUBBLE HASH IS MADE
Similar to extracts such as rosin, bubble hash is manufactured without the use of solvents. Solvent-free extracts are considered purer than concentrates made with solvents such as butane, propane, ethanol or other solvents.
Essentially, all you need to produce bubble hash is water, ice, cannabis and sieves or filter bags. The end product of sieving this mixture through different bags with sieves of different micron sizes is an extract composed solely of cannabis trichomes that have been gently shaken from the flower.
One of the purest and most potent solvent-free extracts on the market is produced when bubble hash is prepared correctly from top-quality cannabis. But remember that some strains are better suited to extraction than others, so the wrong cultivar will produce poor quality bubble hash. Think 'quality in, quality out' when making bubble hash and commit to selecting strains that are ideal for washing.
BUBBLE HASH CHARACTERISTICS
TEXTURE AND APPEARANCE
Bubble hash is not pressed or rolled like traditional hash, which is usually rolled into balls or crushed into blocks. Instead, bubble hash's ice-water extraction method contributes to a slightly crumbly texture. Compared with conventional hash and other concentrates such as wax and shatter, this solvent-free concentrate is generally milder. Unlike ordinary hash, which has a solid, brick-like consistency, bubble hash is more like a powder or sticky paste.
Usually, the quality of bubble hash is indicated by its colour. High-quality bubble hash generally has a light blond to golden yellow hue, but a poor-quality product is usually indicated by a dark greenish-brown bubble hash.
IMPACT AND RESULTS
Although bubble hash has more potency than the strongest flower, it lacks the powerful effects of other cannabis concentrates such as shatter or wax. While stronger concentrates can contain up to 90 % of THC or more, high quality bubble hash can only contain up to 60 % of THC.
Customers should expect much stronger effects from bubble hash than from smoked flower, as it is much more potent than flower, which generally contains 20 % of THC. The variety used to produce the hash determines the effects you feel when you take it. Although bubble hash is considered to be one of the weakest cannabis concentrates, its effects are still superior to those of flower, making it an excellent starting point for anyone wanting to
